Beat Seasonal Allergies with Air Purification

June 24, 2015

It’s the foggiest time of the year, allergy season. Spring has sprung and pollen is all around. If you’re done spending the season itching your eyes and sneezing, an air purification system may help alleviate some of the discomfort.

Allergens and irritants aren’t only lingering outdoors. In fact, indoor air is possibly more polluted than outdoor air and we’re spending around 90% of our leisure indoors. The ragweed, pollen and dust from the outside air transfers to your inside air. An air purifier will kill those irritants and particles from your home’s air. In fact, Lennox’s Pureair® Air Purification system combats all three different indoor air pollutants; airborne particles, germs and bacteria and chemical odors and vapors. It cleans your home’s air better than any other single system you can get.

There are also a few things you can do as a homeowner to help combat the allergens in your home.

  • Change your shoes before coming inside.
  • Find a vacuum with a HEPA filter and use it often.
  • If you’ve been working out in the yard or garden, take a shower.
  • If you have a dog or any pets that play outdoors, bathe and brush them frequently.

You may be curious what the difference is between air filtration and an air purification system. Air filters are part of another system and are not capable of killing as many pollutants as an air purifier. Air purifiers are a three-part system in and of themselves and comprise of a normal air filter, UVA light and a metal piece that is covered with a light-activated catalyst.

The end result is to make your home as comfortable as possible and keep you and the air you’re breathing as healthy as you can. That’s the purpose the team at Age Heating & Cooling in Sandpoint works with you to tackle any indoor air quality issues you may be experiencing and works to find a solution that helps you and your home.
